Anti-Fraud Quiz with Heartwarming Gifts – A Sincere Mother's Day Gathering at Pingtung Prison

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Pingtung Prison held face-to-face visitation events on April 30 and May 1, inviting inmates’ families to reunite with their loved ones behind bars. The gatherings aimed not only to strengthen emotional bonds between inmates and their families but also to reinforce family support systems that can aid inmates in successfully reintegrating into society upon release. Special blessings were extended to all mothers in attendance, and handmade soaps crafted by the inmates were given as thoughtful gifts. In addition, an anti-fraud quiz with prizes was organized to liven up the atmosphere and raise awareness on fraud prevention and personal safety.
During the event, the prison's Deputy Warden and Chief of the Ethics Office shared common fraud scenarios—such as online dating, shopping, and investment scams—in simple and relatable language. They encouraged both inmates and their families to remain calm in suspicious situations and to verify information through the anti-fraud hotline 165. This two-way interaction, paired with a fun prize-based quiz, helped participants better understand the nature of fraud and how to avoid falling victim, thereby reducing the risk of financial harm.
The Mother's Day gathering not only rekindled familial warmth but also promoted a positive and caring image of the correctional institution.
Warden Wu Hsin-Yen expressed that the event received an enthusiastic response from all participants. It successfully strengthened family ties while educating attendees about fraud prevention in an engaging and memorable way. He emphasized that future activities will continue to integrate humanistic care with anti-fraud awareness, helping inmates and their families rebuild trust and paving the way for their return to society.
