Education, Culture and Recreation
Education is the primary business of prison execution. Guarding personnel should have empathy and respect for human rights to conduct inmates’ education and help the inmates return to society. The Prison implementation of the education business is mainly based on counseling and education and supplemented by cultural and entertaining activities. That is to say, the Prison pays attention to morality cultivation and knowledge improvement. The Prison uses various educational treatment measures to encourage the inmates to repent and improve their ability in social life.
Strengthen all kinds of counseling education
The inmates should be provided with group, categorized and individual counseling in accordance with their execution needs and are encouraged to participate in all kinds of education. The Prison actively hosts family support programs, religious activities, life education and other courses or activities to assist the inmates to return to society. Besides this, in order to improve the efficiency of education execution, the Prison properly uses various resources, and hires medical personnel and other professionals to conduct diversified scientific and empirical execution for inmates convicted of drug use, sexual assault, domestic violence, and drunk driving.
Actively host cultural and recreational activities
In order to cultivate the temperament of inmates and strengthen the purpose of prison execution, the Prison actively uses social resources to host various cultural and recreational activities. In order to relieve the inmates’ missed family feelings and enhance their family relations, on the eve of the Spring Festival, Mother’s Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the Prison will host and family face-to-face and telephone visitation activities to improve the physical and mental health of the inmates.
Strict implantation of progressive execution and parole
The Prison will strictly implement progressive corrective treatment and parole matters in accordance with relevant regulations. As for the inmates who meet the parole requirements, the Prison should submit the case to the “Parole Review Committee” which is composed of ex officio members of the Prison and persons with psychology, education, or other related expertise hired by the Prison, for resolution. If the Parole Review Committee resolves to approve a case, the case should be submitted to the Ministry of Justice for approval. The inmates can be released on parole after the Ministry of Justice’s approval.
